Abstract In Scientific Ontology , Chakravartty diagnoses a “dramatic conflict” between empiricism and metaphysics aims to overcome that conflict by opting for modern-day variant of Pyrrhonism, i.e. appreciating the equal strength ( isostheneia ) arguments against empiricist metaphysical positions, achieving tranquility ataraxia suspending judgment or remaining speechless in face . this paper, I want argue instead we should adopt position remains underrated Chakravartty’s analysis: amounts Kantian combination transcendental idealism empirical realism, like original combination, is capable solving many instances dramatic and, particular, talk town philosophy science these days—the ontic-structural realism Lewisian metaphysics.
